Thanksgiving weekend

Okay now that things have calmed down a bit at my house. Let me tell you it has been insane the last couple of months going to Dentist appointments, Dr's appointments, vaccination appointments play group activities family coming to town, and so on and so on and that's not even our everyday stuff. Sheesh adding another baby to the family all of a sudden I find my self going to appointments every week it seems. But we did have a very nice Thanksgiving with friends and family at our house.
I also went to black Friday midnight run , it was so nice to get things for Christmas at 75%off. I got almost everything I needed at the price I wanted and everything else was rapped up by Monday so we are completely finished with our Christmas shopping before December 1st and it feels so good. Now we can sit back and relax for the rest of the month. And contrary to what the media was trying to portray black Friday as everyone was polite and the only down side was I stood in line for an hour and half with my mom but it was so worth it.

Saturday we got the Christmas lights up and Sunday we decorated the inside of our house and did our annual ginger bread house.
My pretty Table for Thanksgiving

My Dad chilling while the dinner was being prepared.

Most of the family was busy watching football all day.

My perfect turkey with the guidance from my mom.

 Uncle Eph and the boys

Eric kept giving my dad the stink eye when ever he felt wronged. He really shouldn't do that but it sure is a perfect replica of me.

Thanksgiving was over and Eden was ready for Christmas season to start

Saturday after Thanksgiving my little brother did a photo shoot with my family so we could have updated family pictures with Eden.

Eden was super cute in her huge but very pretty Sunday dress.

Sunday evening we did our family gingerbread house.

So once again a very successful Thanksgiving.

Eden's four month check up

Eden saw the Dr. today for her four month check up. It was good timing since she and Eric are both sick with colds and were seen in one trip. Eden is doing very well the Dr. says she is now ready for fruits and veggies with her rice cereal and that she is growing just fine. I was concerned with her growth since she seems so small still but she is still growing.
Her head is 16 in and that puts her in the 10th percentile for head size.
Her weight is 11lbs 4oz and that puts her weight in the 10th percentile for her age group.
Her hight is 24 1/2in that puts her hight in the 50th percentile for her age group.
So she is a long skinny girl, her body type is much like her Daddy's.
She giggles when she smiles and her favorite person in the whole world is Josh.

Teachers

It's no secret that I will forever be grateful to Josh's preschool teacher. She gave Josh the head start he needed and the love for school that is essential to future success in school. Today she offered to enroll Eric in her class for next year so that he too would have the same opportunities as Josh. Now Josh's Kindergarten teacher has done a wonderful job with Josh as well. He is flourishing in her class and is excited to go to school every day. So Thank you to all educators who instill in their students what my child's teachers have instilled in him.

Breaking Dawn Premier

My friend offered me a chance to go see Breaking Dawn with her at the special early 8:00pm showing it was awesome! No line to wait in and I didn't have to stay up late to see it. When we left the movie the line for the 12:00am showing was insane.
This line snakes all round the theater.

A video of Josh READING!

Last night at story time Jason and Josh read a book together. Josh is so close to just reading on his own. We are so pleased with his efforts and wanted to share with everyone else.
if you watch Josh's hand you'll see him making the sign for R.

Firsts

Eden is just two days shy of being four months and has had a couple of firsts this month. She had her first cold, no fun for mommy, She had cereal for the first time last night and consumed it like a pro, and she now has her first tooth on the bottom much to her parents surprise. She is growing and other than the tooth she is a very happy baby. Last night was the first time in a long time that she only woke up twice. She had been waking up about four times every night. She didn't spit up any of the rice cereal, I think it was because she ate it really slow but anyways she is doing well and well still allergic to milk products but I hope she out grows that around six months, that may just be wishful thinking. Another first was Josh visited the dentist yesterday for the first time and he is doing great!

If you look closely you will see two sets of little hands that belong to the boys. They were so excited for Eden's first solids meal. Eric even insisted on tasting it before Eden so he could put his stamp of approval on it. Problem was he wanted more.

Oh, and Eric used the potty for the first time.
Lots of firsts at our house!

weekend vacation

Over the weekend we took off and drove to Fresno CA to visit my parents while we were there we took some family pictures courtesy of yours truly, and celebrated Jason's birthday. This year Jason received three cakes all for himself since his wife can't eat them and lots of fun things to enjoy. We also visited Jason's parents on our way back so we got double the family time.
These are some of my favorite pictures from the trip

 Papa and Nana
the leaves in this park were so beautiful.

 Eric

 Brianne and Jason

Josh was the most difficult to get a picture of just right because he loves the camera so much that he does all these funny positions so we had to actually go back to the park to get a good picture of him.

 Josh and Mommy

This was probably the only time she smiled that day. She has been teething and is very grumpy these days.

Jason's 29 Birthday one of the three cakes.

 new hiking backpack

 Cake number two

Josh loved all the cakes as you can tell.

Eric too.

Cake number three, Jason enjoyed this cake with all the youth in our ward.

Eric enjoying the paper at Nana's house

All in all it was a very fun weekend, now we have another week to look forward to.

I don't now that anyone other than my husband will really get this joke but I'll let the picture do the talking.

FHE

I'm so grateful for the leaders of our Church who have been inspired to ask every family to hold family home evening or FHE. Last night we talked about doing as the Lord has asked us to. Josh has been having some trouble with wanting to go to church. The funny thing is once he is there he is happy but it seems every Sunday morning I'm fighting him to get dressed and and not whining about going to church so as our family home evening lesson  we talked about specifically the Lord asking us to go to church. You can find the scripture in Exodus. I hope now Josh will know how much his mommy and daddy love Heavenly Father and want to do as he has asked everyone to do. I really love these special moments in time when you can feel the spirit as you teach your little ones.

Jason

Somehow yesterday at church we became the victims of a nasty virus that has been sweeping through our ward. Josh woke up crying last night and when I walked in to see what was wrong he was covered in non other than PUKE. I'm a little to much like my mother in the sense I can't handle the smell of puke very well, so I started gagging and Jason did the job of removing the bedding and scrubbing the area. We then put Josh to bed with Eric and a bucket. We had no other alternative since Josh's bed was covered in the nasty stuff. So I'm so thankful to my husband who took care of most of the nasty laundry and left me with the minor stuff. Now we didn't sleep well last night as Eden was up about every hour as was Josh for various reasons from complaints on his knee hurt to Eric is kicking me. Another reminder of why we separated the boys. So I didn't get much sleep and well Jason woke up early feeling sick and well being sick but he's the man and got over it very quickly as for Josh he is complaining that I forced him to stay home today and well I'm disinfecting everything because well I don't want the nasty virus I already have a cold and Eden can't afford to throw up anything and as for Eric I don't want to clean up after his puke either. So thank you dear husband for always being my knight in shining armor now please everyone get better before Thursday because Nana and Papa do not want to get sick either.
Mr. super tired. It was a very full day of church service so Jason spent from early morning to late night still in his shirt and tie but thats because he is so awesome. :)

This picture of Eden makes me smile.

Eric

I'll be the first to tell you that having a two year old makes you grateful for the sweat things and those sweat actions mostly overshadow the naughty things he does all the time. Eric is a pretty mellow two year old compared to the tornado of a two year Josh was, but he still has his moments of pure two year old behavior. I'm grateful for those moments when Eric cuddles up to me and says " I love you Mommy" or "Thank you". I''ll be the first to say that the terrible two's are a major challenge for me with the tantrums and coloring on couches and the not listening but it's just one year and Eric still does lots of good things all the time so I still love him very much. I love that he carries his blanket around every where we go including to and from school, he eats with it curled up behind him and he plays with it in the backyard, it is an inseparable friend. I am so grateful for my little Eric.

Joshua

This is the month of Gratitude, so I will post something I'm grateful for every day. Today I will be starting with Josh or as he is always telling me it's not Josh but Joshua. Almost six years ago that little man came into my life and stole a piece of my heart forever changing me. He is the one who made me a mother and challenges me every day. He is a mixture of mischief, comedy, stubborn as all get out, head strong at times, teachable, patient and kind. A friend to all no matter what your back ground was. He still doesn't like food. If he had it his way he would only eat sweats and PB and J sandwiches. He loves and protects his sister fiercely. He tells me that one day he will take care of her forever because he loves her. He loves to take goofy pictures of himself and quickly see what they look like. I will forever be grateful to my Heavenly Father for  bringing this little man into my life.

Firsts

Eden came down with her first cold yesterday. As did her Mom but it is very minor and I expect that we will be over it by Thursday. It bothered her last night while she tried to sleep but it is not bothering her to much today, in fact she is mostly  all smiles.

Eden's hair is really coming in now. It's turning out to look like the same shade of brown as Eric's.
I also learned my lesson to not go out in public with out some kind of bow on her head. The other day a lady in the store told me how handsome my baby boy was even though my baby girl was dressed in pink and purple. Some people need a large flashing sign to show them the gender of a beautiful baby girl. This lady also tried to lecture me on not over populating the planet but that is another story.
