Surprise

The boys and I were playing in the backyard and found another bird's nest. The last one we found had one egg in it and it was destroyed by the wind storm we just had a week ago so to my surprise I found another birds nest in the bush by our shed with two eggs in it this time, The wonders of nature. Eric also discovered a foot ball and was able to wrestled it from his big brother now all he wants is to hold the foot ball. Sounds like I might have some trouble in the future with my beautiful baby boy.

where did this week go?

I was just sitting hear listening to the nice quiet that comes from my boys taking a quick nap and thinking, where did this week go? Can it really be Friday already? We've been so busy working on our yard and finishing up school and playing with the boys and working that this week seemed to just pass us by. That made me wonder just how many weeks have I let pass me by. I'm always hearing how families get so busy that they forget to do the small but important things like family prayer and scripture studying and family home Evening, I use to think that those families were just not scheduling the time. But I've changed my mind. Time just flies by and the older I get the faster it goes. I need to remind my self to cherish every day because it means I had an opportunity to do good in the world that day. Today has been an exceptionally difficult day to be upbeat and positive, these are the days to remember that without the difficult days it's hard to appreciate the good days. Don't let time get away from you and you'll learn just how beautiful our lives are.

GRASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay we finally are getting the sod laid on the best and worst day to do it. We've seen hail, snow blizzards and some rain and sunshine from time to time, but it is all worth it because it is so beautiful! Eric gave his smile of approval and so did Josh now to just finish it up. I have never laid sod before and found out just how heavy it is. My job was to load up the wheel barrow and bring it to the back so my Husband and father in law could lay it down. Great opportunities to get more exercise in.

Before and After.

Here are some better pictures of how our yard has changed and all the effort that went into it. I by the way just so you know laid all the top soil by myself and have a nice sunburn to show for it. Enjoy the transformation I just love how our yard is turning out I can't wait to see it with grass in it.

We had wanted to get our sod placed today but we just didn't have time and the turf company ran out of sod so that will have to wait till Monday mourning. We did finish up the rock planter by the patio and laid the top soil out. We also found a birds nest in one of our tress with a egg in it. These are some of the pictures that we have of how our yard has changed over the last two years.

My baby is ten months old.

Well Eric is now ten months old and becoming the pain in his brothers side. Just like every little brother is suppose to be. Eric learned how to do the army man crawl and loves exploring his brothers toys and everything that can go in his mouth. He is very much a mommy's boy if he has the choice its mom and even when he dose not have a choice and needs to go with dad its still mom. My arms are really tired at the end of most days because I ended up carrying Eric all day. He is finally sleeping through the night!!!!!!!!!!!! :) that I'm grateful for, because I was becoming the mother zombie. He is suffering from swollen gums again and I can see at least three teeth trying to come through. He has become a pro at using the teeth that he dose have he loves to eat and I let him eat usually what we are eating and he has done great on everything so far. Daddy gave him ice cream the other day and Eric fell in love instantly. I can't believe that he is almost a year old. Two short months left till his birthday and then my baby will no longer be an infant. I have no idea where this year went. Yesterday we mailed off all of Jason's graduation announcements and I think that made it more real for us all that we can't go to school forever and we do have to move on in lives. Josh is doing really well in school and loves to challenge himself on how far he can count by himself. He can get as far as seventeen then forgets eighteen but once you help him out in that spot he finishes up to twenty. He loves his letters as well and knows them out of order, in order, we spend a big chunk of the day looking at letters asking what it is and whats it's sound, he loves that game. Josh loves his brother but has had a lot of trouble sharing with him and gets really annoyed when Eric gets into his things so the next step is to teach Josh to put his toys away so Eric can't get to them. This is a really long post so I hope everyone is doing well and have a great week.

Busy Saturday

We ordered five yards of top soil and four yards of rock today and the miracle was we got it all put in the back yard before the sun went down, very tired now. We are really excited because the grass goes in next weekend the yard is almost finished. While we worked to day my friends kids came over to help us by keeping the boys entertained it worked out really well. next project on our schedule is to get the top soil laid out and then prep for the grass.

My boys

A couple of things have been happening these last couple of days. First Jason got his pictures taken for his College graduation announcements that is really exciting for us. Jason and I have been working to get him through college since his first semester and we have so many memories together at UNR. Second Josh is still working on potty training and that seems to be a forever progression but this next week is spring break and he will be working on potty training with no interference from school, and lastly Eric had his first hair cut. I know he is only nine months old but his hair was starting to look really silly. He has this super straight hair and it was not curling at all like his brothers dose so we took the clippers and made him look more like a boy again to often people assumed he was a boy because he is really attractive so it's important that we keep his hair short and out of his eyes and ear lobes. Enjoy the pictures of my most precious boys in my life. I'd be in them except that someone has to hold the camera. I hope to get a picture of just me and Jason soon. Good luck to my sweat heart on his last month of college!

Faker

Josh has a new talent these days. What could it be you ask. Well fake whining to get what he thinks he needs. Eric has been teething like crazy and the poor boy never seems to get a break from the pain, So I started using teething tablets to ease his pain. Well Josh seems to think that he needs them too. So whenever I give Eric a teething tablet Josh starts flailing on the floor saying ouch my knee hurts oh no Mommy my head hurts oh dear my arm hurts too.I only gave in once just because I thought it was really inventive of his sudden pains and the teething tablets are all natural. Now today he brings the teething tablets to me telling me his whole body hurt and these teething tablets will make him feel better. What was my reaction? Loud laughter! Did he get the tablets nope! I think I need to teach my son the lesson about the boy who cried wolf.
Now the purple thing on Josh's head is a stamp he put it there this morning

Easter 2010

This Year my wonderful parents came over the mountain to spend Easter weekend with us it was so much fun. We potty trained, colored eggs, potty trained some more went hunting for eggs. Potty trained some more, watched conference put in the wood chips for the play area, fixed our roof that the wind ripped up. Potty trained some more ate lots of jelly bellies. Watched more conference and you guessed it Potty trained some more. Then for Easter Sunday I made glazed ham, potatoes, salad and rolls and fresh strawberries, very yummy and this year since I went way over board at Christmas on candy the only candy we had were jelly bellies and one gift. I think I will continue this tradition of no candy baskets but a gift basket instead, it's better for my hips. Hope everyone also had a wonderful Easter and don't look to closely at me in the pictures I didn't have time to put makeup on at all this weekend. ;)

You know your a Mommy of small children when

You know your a Mother of small children when you, send the kids to school come home and start singing at the top of your lungs, "Clean up clean up everybody everywhere" just to get yourself motivated to clean your house.

You know your a mother when your husband hurts his hand and you instantly respond with oh sweat heart let me see oh I'll kiss it better.

You know your a mother when you exercise with the baby as the hand weight.

You know your a mother when you sit on the bathroom floor for an hour singing nursery songs while your child is trying to potty train.

You know your a mother of small children when your purse is a diaper bag.

You know your a mother when your child sees a cut on your friends husbands hand and demands that only Mommy can kiss it all better.

Hope your having a wonderful April Fools day!
