Six month check up for Eden and Josh turns six

Today was Eden's six month check up. She is doing really well. The Dr told me that she is playing catch up right now in her growth patterns.
Her stats are:
Height is now 26in tall. Placing her in the 75th percentile in her age group.
Weight is 13-8#. Placing her in the 25th percentile.
Head is 16 3/4 placing her in the 50th percentile.
What this tells us is that all the food this little Missy eats goes straight to her length. She is chubbing up a little but as the Dr. put it she is sweet and lean. He expects that she will be a relatively tall girl. I guess I will be in good company with  my Joshua.
My beautiful little girl who spent most of the visit to the Dr.'s office giggling and smiling at anyone who would look at her.
It is also Josh's six birthday today. He is a smart, out going little boy with more self confidence than three adults put together. Jason and I are so pleased with him. As we walked his cupcakes to school today many of the kids in his class stopped to wish him a happy birthday. As a mother I'm grateful that he has friends .
One of my friends did this little questionnaire for her daughter on her birthday and so I thought, what a great idea so I did it for Josh. I also want to have my kids fill out this little questionnaire each year to see how their answers may change with age. It's funny all the answers that he came up with.

Josh turned 6!

Josh's sixth birthday party was this last weekend. We were surrounded by family and friends in one of our favorite hangouts in CA. Josh had a super hero theme and all the work that went into making it special for him really payed off. He was so excited when family started showing up for his special day party and when his friend Jordan Lindsay came he was so excited that he couldn't hold still. I believe that Josh is six years old now and I been thinking back to all the stages and growth he has made in these last six years. I just don't feel old enough to have a six year old but I do. He also received his school report card on Friday and to say I'm happy is a total understatement. I'm so very pleased with all his hard work and excitement over learning and the results that are coming from those desires to learn. We love him so much. I couldn't be happier than to be the Mother of such a special little boy.

The decorations were simple and nice.

I made the happy birthday banner for Josh's super hero's birthday party.

My mother in law made this beautiful cake that fit with the theme perfectly.

Josh wearing his super J shirt and posing by his cake.

opening the presents, I didn't get any pictures with my family which were there as well so I hope my little brother took some of those pictures.

My adorable nephew Dilyn sporting his super hero mask. I made masks for every child at the party including pretty Miss Eden. Dilyn just happened to be the only kid who wore his mask the entire time.

Eric wore his team super J shirt because well, Eric is Josh's most loyal fan.

Before the party we went to the castle park and the kids had fun playing. Grandma even got them to sit for a couple of pictures.

All of the Kjar Grandkids and most of the Moore Grandkids too.

It was such a fun weekend, it's these weekend moments that make life so happy to be apart of.

Funny Eden

Eden in her super hero mask

Finished

I finally finished up an all the things I wanted to have done for Josh's birthday party. I sure hope he enjoys it because it was really time consuming work and in some ways I had to really think outside of the box to get it done.
these are the super hero masks that every kid will get at the party. Since it is almost all family and 1 friend I was able to hand make all the masks for the kids.

Of course since Eden is the only girl I made hers just a little more feminine.

and just because she is soooooo adorable I thought I'd post a picture of her.

and a close up of my most recent bow design.

almost there

I finished Josh's super J shirt for his birthday for this Saturday and Eric was feeling really sad about not having a shirt to wear and I was not going to design a super E for him because well Josh's super J took me six days to design and finish so I made him a team Super J shirt instead using an old T-shirt. I think they turned out pretty good. Now I just need to finish up the super hero masks and I'll be ready for my almost six year olds birthday party.

trying to grow up to fast

Eric has been fighting me about taking a nap every day and yesterday after staying in his room crying for an hour to come let him down. I gave up and let him get up from bed and play with me. Later that night though I walked into the living room to see this.
I keep telling him not to grow up so fast, that he still needs naps, hugs, kisses, Mommy time and bibs to protect his clothes. I need him to stay my little helper for just a little longer , there will be a day when I'm not the women in his life anymore but untill then I still need him to be my lovable little Eric. I love him so much.

Super J

I asked Josh what he wanted to do for his birthday this year and his response was I want to be a super hero. Well I wasn't sure how to do that so I let josh draw me a picture of what super hero he was thinking of. He drew his picture and the picture was of a logo not just any logo but Super J. This is part of super J's look.

Super J protects the innocent from evil bad guys with his super undetectable strength. (Josh's words), I can't wait to see it all together.

My blue eyed beauty

Eden is almost six months old now and has been so much fun. She has a personality that is all her own. She can be funny, dramatic and laid back all in a matter of minutes and she keeps us on our toes at all times. We weighed her last week and found out that she now weighs 13.5 pounds and is all caught up in her age group for both weight and height. That might have something to do with the amount this little girl consumes. She loves peas, sweet potatoes, rice cereal, and carrots. She does not like  baby food green beans, who does? or squash but she will eat them if offered. She really loves to lay on a blanket and roll over from front to back and play with rattles. She can not go more than a few minutes with out one of her many binkies and has learned how to grab them out of her mouth but has not learned how to put them back in making her mad. We are so blessed to have her in our lives.

Little old lady

Josh and Eric thought it would be funny to dress up as what they called the little old lady. It gave me a good laugh I thought it might do the same for you.

Year 2011

2011 was as always a very busy year as our family continues to grow. One of my friends expressed all the things their family has done this last year and I thought well maybe I could give it a try to and see what it was we did last year. It seems like our year was split up into to portions the before Eden and the after.

We started out the year with celebrating Josh's 5th birthday.

Josh rode the Ferris wheel for the first time.

 created many snowmen

 played at Cabellas

Finally stopped throwing up and feeling better about my pregnancy. This happened sometime around April. As many of you know I threw up for the first 18 weeks of my pregnancy.

 painted the boys room

 Started our garden twice.

 visited six flags

 Josh graduated from preschool.

Jason and Josh went to Father sons camping trip.

Painted Eden's room a beautiful girlie pink.

 Played at the water park

Eric turned 2

Eden Anne Kjar was born.

 Eden was blessed

 Josh started Kindergarten

Eden  out grew her colicky stage and became a very happy baby just in time to save Mommy's sanity.

Went to Apple hill with Jason's family.

celebrated my 27 birthday

We celebrated Halloween with carving pumpkins

visited my parents in Fresno and had a fun photo-op with my favorite kids.

Brianne lost 45 lbs in four months.

celebrated Jason's 29 birthday

Brianne went to a VIP showing of Breaking Dawn.

Josh lost his first tooth.

had a visit from Santa on Christmas Eve.

and finished out the year with a fun annual Roommates reunion (Brianne,  Janessa and Katie). This was a picture of all of our kids we have created in the seven years that all three of us have been married.

It was a very busy year for us and we did so much that no amount of time could be enough to share it all but we are so blessed and look forward to another year and some more fun changes for our family as we grow and learn together.

Have a happy 2012
