Music fun

Our family often like to turn off the TV and sit down and listen to Jason play the piano. Most of the time the boys end up playing with him on a the piano but the other night they were more interested in dancing to the music. We even got an exclusive of Jason singing. He likes to tell everyone that he only plays the piano but the truth is he has a beautiful voice as well and I caught it on camera so he can not deny. I'm so grateful for my husbands wonderful talent everyone in the house is blessed by it. Even the baby was having a good time moving around while the music was going. What talents do you have?

baby room finished

We've been working really hard these last couple of weeks and we're just about finished. I have one little thing I still want to do but it is really minor. Today Jason replaced the light fixture in our kitchen up until now it had just been a open case with the long lamps hanging out, not a pretty sight. He replaced the door handles yesterday and we finished the babies room today. Now I just need to sit and be patient.

The boys warm and safe after a long day of work.
And yes Eric has a bottle I need to send him to a counseling program to help get him off of bottles. Just kidding he took a really bad fall yesterday and the bottle was the one thing that made him really feel better. He's fine today and back on sippy cups.

Home renovations

We picked up some more projects to do around the house. Jason changed out all the handles from the ugly eighties gold to a more modern silver. We also picked up a new light cover for the kitchen and we'll be finishing up the babies room tomorrow. I love working on our house.

Good lookin Boys

Sunday after noon the boys decided it would be fun to match but getting a picture with all of them looking at the camera proved to be impossible. I love my boys so much not only are they very good looking boys but they are the sweetest individuals, with a good sense of humor. I'm so blessed that they call me mom. The scratch on top of Jason's head was from the boys playing around. It seems that every time he plays with the boys he receives a new wound to his bare head. I'm grateful that he still plays with our boys wounds or not.

color change

We're still working on the room but it looks like it is almost ready for a little girl to sleep happily in. Even our boys love the new changes we've made.

The room went from blue to pink and we'll be working on putting up the border this next week. Just a side note for my Dad the border does not have any sports things in it it is a border of flowers and butterflies.

First night with out

I tried to ween Eric from the bottle slowly by only giving it to him during naps and bedtime but that wasn't working so last night we got rid of all bottles. AKA we boxed them up and took them out. Now he has no choice and Eric quickly learned that his Mommy and Daddy are more stubborn than he is. The night was a nice quiet night full of sleep. Something I've been missing for a couple of days. Now lets just see how nap time goes today.

My mistake

My kids have never really been attached to certain objects like a Binky or a blanket but there is one thing that Eric is very much attached to and I'm trying to ween him off of it. My attempts have frustratingly failed. Now I'm just packing up the object and removing it till I have to use it again with our third child which wont be that long but Eric has to get away from,
The Bottle.

I love this little boy but his addiction to bottles must end.

babies room

Well it's about time I started to work on my babies room the way time has been flying by I feel this urgency to get the room done while I'm still feeling good. You know with me things can turn ugly really fast in my pregnancies at the end. It has something to do with the belly hanging over so far that I'm big time over compensating. and the swelling and the ....... I could go on forever but I have learned from the past to get the baby stuff done early. So yesterday I was looking on craigslist trying to find a changing table to go in the babies room. There really wasn't anything that looked appealing so my parents were looking in their area and had some good leads, but at the end of the day I felt I should take one more look at dressers instead of changing tables and I found the most perfect dresser that could be both changing table and dresser and it is so cute. I'm really excited to tear away the wall paper and paint over the blue and make this room a room fit for a adorable little girl.

tender moments part two

I had some requests to show a picture of Josh and Eric practicing holding their babies so I tried to reenact the precious moment. Josh was in a bit of a goofy mood but I did get some fun pictures of the boys holding their babies. Josh was also visited at school by a very important guest. Smokey the Bear came to Josh's school and talked to the kids about preventing Fires. Out of pure coincidence Josh was wearing his fire department t-shirt so he was well prepared to meet Smokey. He was sent home with lots of goodies. I told him that when Mommy was a little girl her Daddy worked with Smokey the bear as a forest ranger in Wyoming. On the side note today was my parents 31 anniversary. I'm so grateful that my parents have been married for 31 years. I feel so blessed that I have not had parents or grandparents experience divorce, neither has my husband. It truly is a blessing in my life and the lives of my children. Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad.

Tender moments

I took a look at the calendar the other day and realized that I'm now down to ten weeks left of this pregnancy if I'm lucky and I mean that in the sense of keeping baby girl happy inside of me till then. Nothing scares me more right now than a baby that comes way to early, well there are other things that scare me too but that one is top on my list. Now I'm really starting to feel the scramble to get things done and ready for a baby because ten weeks will fly by fast. My days lately have been more like minutes in time and my weeks feel more like days. I can't believe how fast time is flying by. I still feel like I just found out I was expecting this precious bundle of joy now, I'm looking at the end of the pregnancy and asking myself how am I going to be a good mommy to a five year old who is getting ready to go to kindergarten and a almost two year old who is still so very much a baby in so many ways. I felt these fears creep over me when I was expecting Eric and everything worked out just fine for our family so I know it will all work out a third time. Josh walks around the house pretending to have a baby princess in his arms. You know it is probably the sweetest thing I've seen Josh do. He loves babies, always has but this baby girl has already stolen his heart. He can't wait to be a big brother to a sister. I've caught him trying to teach Eric the proper way to hold a baby using stuffed animals. I don't know where he gets his super tender heart or knows that Eric needs practice because we as parents are not pushing it but I'm grateful he has more of a sense of mind to do it. Now If I could just get those last little chores done and actually be ready for this baby like I wasn't ready for my first two kids. They came early and I was so not prepared. I'd actually like to be prepared for once. We have the paint for the baby room now we just have to find time to paint the blue room to a pretty pink now all I'm missing is a changing table but that seems to be something that is hard to find, only because I don't wish to spend a lot of money but I'm sure in the next ten weeks I'll find something that works for our family.

weekend work

Well we did some more work this last weekend no surprise right. Spring always comes with lots of work and that is the best part about spring clean up. Well we finished that front planter and pulled all the weeds in the front yard, fixed broken sprinklers, moved planters that were full of dirt and flowers and planted more flowers and a new plant in the back. Now we just need to mow the lawn in the front and back. Oh and Jason took me to Kohl's to pick out a mothers day gift with the boys. They picked out such nice gifts that I will treasure for a very long time to come. I hope everyone else had a special mothers day. All this work was done Saturday and Sunday was spent focusing on mothers. Every Sunday we have a small lesson just a spiritual thought to get us ready for another week. The spiritual lesson yesterday was about special mothers throughout history. It just amazes me how much my boys soak in from these lessons. Monday nights we have family home evening and that gives the boys another opportunity to learn and grow. Tonight's lesson is going to be given by Josh. He loves to give small lessons and it helps him learn to talk in front of others which will help him in his life. Have a great week everyone.
The front planter that nothing grew in being ripped out.

Rocks, some paint, a chair and a couple of planters later.

Oh and we got a new flag to sit next to our porch.
The new plant is a flowering vine plant that should grow like a weed. It should survive many winters to come and will need to be trimmed. We still need to repaint all the window frames but that chore will have to wait for another weekend.

Josh posing for the camera, he is good at that.

Busy weekend

Last weekend was a busy weekend for us, as a matter of fact the next month and a half of weekends is busy for us. We have planned projects and the list is getting longer every day. I think I'm nesting, I do this with every baby a few months before the baby comes I get the need to organize and prepare my home I think it's because the last month of pregnancy I can't do anything so I cram it all in while I still can, the only down side to that is my poor husband has to do a lot of work with me when I know he would rather be relaxing ( but he says he loves the work I give him). Anyways last weekend there were several projects that needed to be done. First was the boys room needed a make over and the crib needed to go back to the soon to be baby's room. I love the new look and so do the boys I have one or two more projects for it but it turned out adorable and there are no more pen marks on the walls. Josh knows that art work belongs on paper not walls. The boys have made a wonderful transition together since Eric is now sleeping with Josh in the big bed. We couldn't get rid of the queen bed because we have family that visits frequently and we didn't have room for another bed and all the toys so we put the boys in bed together it has been a pretty easy switch. It's not for ever but while they are small I see no problem. All the toys are now in the boys room as well so in a couple of weeks Jason and I will be painting the baby's room that's another project we have lined up. We also ripped out the planter in front of our house where nothing grows and put in white rock we need to paint the eight inches of house that shows now but that's another weekend and we will eventually be putting in a bench. Jason also fixed the sprinklers in the back and mowed the lawn and fertilized. I'm surprised he didn't drop dead Saturday night from all the hard work, he even stayed up late with me to watch a movie just the two of us. so now we are prepping for our next project. Happy times!

Josh found a worm and made it his pet for the after noon sadly it did not last after he took it in the sand box with him. I hope now Josh knows not to put worms in sunny sand boxes.
