Virginia City

Jason had never been to Virginia city which is a historical land mark of NV so that's where we went.

We found a Police Museum, in one of the cells they had a place for kids to dress up.

While we were driving up Josh said he wanted a picture with a camel, At least we found one at the visitors center.

Eric wasn't as excited about the visit but he loved the pizza we had for lunch.

On our way back we found this great place where it over looks the entire Reno Sparks Valley.

You can kinda see it in the back ground it was very pretty.

When we got home Eric and Josh were both crashed. It was a very nice family outing. We also stopped at the cemetery to visit our little nephew who passed away in 2002. Hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial day

Church attire

I dressed Josh in a suit for church today because he had a scripture in primary. He looked so cute and very grown up. So any how doesn't Josh look like a future missionary?

Family Time

Yesterday we went to the Sparks Marina to exercise I wanted to see how far I could run without stopping. I only got about half a mile before I had to stop. Jason got about a mile and half before he had to stop. The entire circle around the Marina is two miles. We had the boys in the double jogging stroller the first time around. The second time we went around Josh rode his bike. He was able to go all the way around with just a little bit of help. Josh would wave and say hi to just about everyone who passed him most people smiled and said hi back, but of course you've got those people who were to busy to even look in his direction. I love that Josh is so friendly to everyone it will be a valuable skill someday. Eric slept the whole time we were walking which was nice. Last night we discovered another tooth in his mouth . The poor baby has been teething for weeks and now has something to show for it. Now he has seven teeth total.

It's official

It's official Josh is fully potty trained both at night time and during the day. It's been a ruff almost year of trying to get him to use the potty. I was feeling like that mommy that was just doing it all wrong because I couldn't teach him how to do it. People would find out that Josh was still wearing diapers at four years of age and give me the run down of the best way to potty train. After months and months of failed attempts and trying everything and having it all fail I had just about had it with the whole business. That was till one day Josh came home from school and asked to use the potty. After that he was doing it all by himself every time. When we started potty training with Josh we promised that he could have a real bike if he went a week with no accidents. Well last night we fulfilled that promise. For those parents out there who have a child who is very stubborn and just does not want to potty train don't force just be patient and wait for them to tell you when they are ready. The best advice I was given was don't stress about it, no child goes to kindergarten in diapers.

Eleven Months

WHERE DID THE LAST ELEVEN MONTHS GO?! Eric is doing well he weighs 21 and 1/2lbs. He can crawl army style and is learning to get up on his knees. He loves to stand and is just plain a riot especially when he is with his brother. He is now starting to refuse baby food cause he has had enough of the good food to know that I'm cheating him with baby stuff. He is still nursing way to much and is having to learn to ween, in the next four weeks he will be totally weened! Yay for Mommy. He can say Mama, Dada and Nana, He is wearing 12 month cloths and has had his first hair cut because he had so much hair. He loves to try to do what ever his big brother does. He loves to get reactions out of his brother as well, whether there good or bad reactions depends on Josh's attitude. I'm busy planning Eric's first birthday party, I'm still trying to figure out where the year went. my advice to moms and dads is, DON"T BLINK.

First Harvest of the year

I pulled spinach today and the boys helped me. Josh was a great help he remembers from last year doing the same thing. Eric on the other hand was more content to pull and eat it. What is it about garden veggies that make kids want to eat them? Josh does not like to eat veggies unless he harvests them. Eric's on a roll today he is even making his grumpy brother smile. Thank goodness for happy kids.

look out ladies here I come.

Josh wanted to wear his sunglasses to school but as soon as he got to school he took them off and handed them to me. So to free up my hands which were full with Eric I put them on Eric. Shockingly Eric left them on his face the whole way back home and is still wearing them fifteen minutes later. He loved those glasses, now I'm going to have to get him his own pair to keep the peace with Josh.

I was looking at pictures of Josh when he was 11 months old to see my boys at the same age and I noticed that I have some really good looking kids. I've enjoyed this year with my two beautiful boys and look forward to the future with them. They have the sweetest personalities. I will forever be grateful for their presence in my life. The picture of Josh was taken just before his first hair cut.

Look what I can do!

Just in the last day or so Eric has wanted to do things his big brother does so today he decided he wanted to stand up and hold onto the crib while I fixed it up so that he would not fall out when he was in it standing. He stood there for thirty minutes just relishing standing on his own two feet. At the end of this week Eric will be eleven months old I just can't believe where this year went. Of course if I'm going to be taking pictures of Eric, Josh insists that I take pictures of him as well.
Enjoy

Hair cut

Both of my boys needed something done with their hair. Eric's hair was getting so long I could pull it in a ponytail on the top of his head so I cut his hair. He was so good. no crying and no moving while I did it. Josh was as usual a pro at holding still. So now both my boys are sporting short hair styles like their Daddy.

Graduation

Well we have had a very busy weekend, Jason after six years was able to finish his degree. Jason and I met five days before he started his first semester of college. We hit it off right away and have been together ever since. My husband has had to fight the odds that were quickly stacking up against him, odds like getting married one semester into your degree and becoming the head of a house hold and soon raising a baby boy as well. After a few years he took over our business and worked it for a while then sold it during an economic recession and started to work for the man we sold it to and built it up. He has always had to work a job to support his family. He now has two sons and a wife who rely on him for support. He finished his degree in six years instead of the traditional four but we are thankful he finished. Now we look forward to him starting his masters in Public Administration. We are so proud of him and love him dearly. His family came up to share this special day with us as well as my parents. We have been surrounded by family all day and love their support. We love Jason so much and I will forever be grateful to Heavenly Father for placing him in my life.

Mother's Day

I hope all you Mom's had a special Mother's day. My boys tried really hard to make it special for me. I was able to sleep in yesterday thanks to a wonderful husband who took care of the boys for me. Then my husband served me a delicious breakfast. The day was full of wonderful moments with my sweet boys. Josh told me happy birthday instead of happy mothers day but I felt blessed to have him say anything at all. This time last year Josh could barely communicate at all with us. Now he says all kinds of things and we just love him. Eric blessed my day with a really bad blow out diaper that took two adults to clean up but we still love him. It was a day to remember why I became a mother in the first place. I wanted to be a mother so I could love and raise children unselfishly. I'm so grateful I have a husband who provides to unselfishly for his family.

Sleep

After I took Josh to school I went to the park with one of my friends and her kids and had a nice little one on one with Eric, something I don't get to do very often. When we came home and picked up Josh from school Eric was very hungry as he usually is so I fed him and put him down for a nap. After three hours of napping I checked on him and this is what I found. He is so angelic when he is sleeping.

What a guy

I got my hair done on Saturday and changed the color just a little to a red brown and when I got home my wonderful husband looked at me and dropped his jaw and quickly told me that I was gorgeous. Now that is a man who's mother taught him to treat a women special. I'm so grateful I have a husband that tells me I'm beautiful on a daily basis cause as a women I need to hear that he truly is a special Man and I feel so blessed that he chose to marry me. The funny thing is his son is picking up on saying sweat things. Josh told me I was the prettiest Mommy in the world. He is such a sweat little boy. He got new Sunday clothes and looked so grown up in his new outfit. I feel like the luckiest women alive to have such special guys in my life.
