Family Vacation Part 2

After we had a ton of fun with the Park's side of the family we drove down to Gunnison UT and started the Kjar's family reunion. That took us down to Lake Powell. This trip takes lots and lots of driving but it is soooo worth the five days of fun.
On our way from Grandma Kjar's house to Lake Powell Dilyn jumped in with us. He was feeling like the party was in our car. At the gas station their Grandma purchased chocolate milk for all of them.

We found the most perfect place to park the house boat. It was on a soft sand bar with a beautiful canyon that we all could swim up and climb on. The down side was just across from us were a bunch of party animals that blasted their music till four in the morning the first night. But we took care of them the second night. We brought the ranger over to investigate and he ended their little underaged drinking fest. Don't go to lake Powell to party and keep all the other campers up it's not nice.

Eric had a bit of trouble learning how to keep himself upright the first day so we had to keep a really close eye on him. We had to save him a couple of times.

Jason's cousin brought a friend with her this year. Her name is Megan and she was really nice to all the little kids. Megan is the one on the left and then there is Jadyn she's one of Jason's many cousins and of course Josh spent most of his time playing on the banana boat.

Josh made it his mission to teach Eric how to hold up a three with is fingers. I found Eric counting a lot on the trip.

Josh and Eric ready for a ride on the banana boat.

Dilyn was so funny on the banana boat, he would tell grandpa to go faster and faster and then my mother in law took over the driving and wasn't paying close attention to how fast she was going and scared Dilyn. When he got back on the boat he kept telling everyone that no more Grandma driving only Grandpa.

The water at Lake Powell is really low right now so we were able to do some hiking and on one of the hikes we found a paw print. This area in normal years would have been completely underwater.

Josh loved looking at the paw print. All the other adult said that it had to be a dog print but that doesn't look like a dog print to me.

By the second day Eric had the swimming thing down and we didn't have to jump in and save him every two seconds.

Family vacation Part 1

Just about every year we do this big double family reunion trip for both sides on Jason's side. The only years we miss are the years I'm pregnant ( we missed last year because I was in the middle of having a baby). So we were really excited this year to go.

The trip was started out with my parents coming a picking up miss Eden. She was to little to go to Lake Powell. I'll post later about her adventures when we pick her up this Saturday.

Josh and Eric getting ready for a long drive to UT.

Dilyn and Eric getting ready for the 4th of July Oakley Parade celebration. Dilyn is our nephew, we'll be talking about him a lot on the trip. My boys just love being with their cousin.

Eric was getting tired of me telling him to say cheese so he gave me one big cheeeeeese.

Grandma Park and Dilyn watching the parade.
Grandma Park is Jason's Mom's Mother.

Couples time!

 Paula and Alan

 Jason and Brianne

 Josh squishing Eric!

Dilyn sporting his fancy head gear.

Josh had his candy bag ready!

 As did Eric.

The sad part about the candy tossing was most of the candy thrown was candy Josh couldn't have because he has caps on his teeth but he was really good at bartering with the cousins to get the candy he could have.

The color guard at the front of the parade.

 RODEO TIME!
After all the fun family activities that we do at Grandma Park's house the entire family goes to the rodeo. Eric was really excited to see all the horses.
Grandma Park and Josh enjoying the rodeo.

The rodeo is not the rodeo without the clown and this clown was the best I've seen in a while. He had me laughing the entire time.

We had a really good time with the Parks side of the family and look forward to seeing some of them again soon when Parker comes home in two weeks!

Discovery Museum

Well I've heard so much about the discovery museum so I finally after six years decided to finally go and give it a try with the kids. Oh My Gosh! LOVE THAT PLACE! Thats all I can say without going over board. The kids loved it, I loved it, we had great company with us and after four hours there I finally had to drag my boys away with promises that we'll be back soon.
First thing my kids saw was a great big airplane that they could play in.

the discovery Museum's two story high cloud gym.
Josh liked it.

But Eric Loved it. I actually had to go to the very top of this thing after him because he wouldn't come down. Good thing no one took a picture of me doing that.

This was Josh in the camping room. He spent like an hour and half in there. I had to pull him out so our group could move on to the next room.

Josh playing with the wind experiments.

The building room. Every little boys dream. I play area where they could build things.

We went with my old college roommates and their families. This was Josh with Micheal Llyod. or for those of you who know me this is one of Janessa's boy.He looks just like his Dad.

In the coloring room Josh was coloring with Gabe Lloyd Janessa's youngest boy.

Hannah, Janessa's Mom and her youngest daughter Mary busy at work.

Eric grabbing a rock to play with.

Back in the building room Eric got busy at work painting the walls.

Then when we made it over to the painting room he was all ready to paint the glass wall.He was most excited to stay in this room. When he was done he had paint everywhere.

My pictures are a bit out of order but this was Eric in the building room testing the different kinds of glass.

Eric and Hannah ( Janessa's oldest) coloring pictures or at least Eric was busy coloring. I think Hannah was posing for the camera.

Eden had fun in the building room just sitting and playing with the blocks and balls.

Into the Native American room Eden found a cool place to check out.

Josh checking stuff out.

Now I don't know why I didn't get any pictures of me and Janessa and Katie and Katie's son Davie  but I didn't take any pictures. I guess I was a little busy trying to keep track of my kids, Janessa's kids and Katie's son. We had kids all over the place.

Eric checking out the foods that the early settlers ate. We all know how important it is to Eric to know what people ate.

 Cooking dinner.

 more painting.

and nothing is more fun than a horse ride.

they had something for everyone, even Eden who loved playing in the baby room with all the textures and balls and slide.
We had so much fun that the first thing the boys wanted to do after we left was bring Daddy so he could see just how cool this museum was.

My parents came to visit us over the weekend and the boys talked all about the fun they had so my Dad and Mom( who are so awesome), bought a year membership pass so our whole family can go back lots more times and bring Daddy with us.

Sweet Goodness

As you may have already noticed I'm totally in love with my little princess. Today she looked like such a big girl sporting her pretty little sandals. I just had to share some of her bright happy charm to bring a little happiness into your heart.

I think every picture I take of Eden has her with her tongue hanging out. I think she is trying to taste the world. It brings just that much more charm to her sassy personality.
