Fall

It turned cold really fast. Last Sunday we were in short sleeve shirts and now we are huddled down in our winter coats trying to stay warm. Last night we went with Jason to the YM YW activity to carve pumpkins. Eden didn't care but the boys were all for getting their hands dirty and making their works of art from pumpkins. I carved Eric's pumpkin from the shapes he told me to do. That is easy when he only knows a handful of shape names. Josh drew the face onto his pumpkin and Daddy carved it. We took pictures of the boys with their pumpkins this morning before we went to school. The boys are getting super excited to go to the ward Halloween party on this Saturday. Every day Josh thanks Heavenly Father for the Halloween holiday. Josh made sure that everyone would be dressing up this year. He seems to be stuck on this notion that Eden and I both need to to be princesses. We'll see how that works out since I will not be purchasing anything else except candy this year.

And Eden happy as ever.

Coming soon to our house. A bunk bed for the boys so that they will stop hurting each other at night.
We were able to find a frame, now we just have to find mattresses to go with it.

YM Hiking trip

Jason took one of the YM from our ward on a hiking trip, the rest of the YM would have gone had they not been up all night from a football trip. all that went seemed to have a lot of fun. They went to Round Top, close to Carson Pass.

Why should red heads always wear a hat when hiking?
Because they will be a lobster if they don't.

Costume

I finished up the boys costumes but I still needed to find a tiara for Eden's and I was looking on line and found this tutorial www.lubirdbaby.com for making tiaras and so I gave it a try tell me what you think.

Eden fell asleep before I could try it on her but I think I'll make one or two more in different colors just for fun.

Eden Is Three Months Old!

Three wonderful months ago Eden blessed our lives and even though we have at times struggled with her tummy problems we are so happy to have her in our family.
Three months old, 22in long and is 9.6 lbs. She has almost doubled her birth weight.
Her newest trick for us is smiling and giving us little laughs. She is a happy baby girl and we love her so much.

This video Eden shares her adorable little laugh.
It doesn't matter how many babies I have every milestone is new for me.

Why Do Women Cry

I loved this so I thought I would share it
Enjoy

Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”
– Genesis 2:18
God did a great thing for Man when He made Woman. The beauty and strength of women is a blessing for all the world. This wonderful story tells how God gave women those and many other phenomenal traits including a tear to shed.

Why Do Women Cry
“Why are you crying?”, a young boy asked his Mom.
“Because I’m a woman,” she told him. “I don’t understand,” he said.
His Mom just hugged him and said, “And you never will, but that’s O.K.”… Later the little boy asked his father, “Why does Mom seem to cry for no reason?”. “All women cry for no reason,” was all his Dad could say… The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why women cry.
Finally he put in a call to God and when God got back to him, he asked “God, why do women cry so easily?”
GOD answered…
When I made woman, I decided she had to be special. I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world, yet, made her arms gentle enough to give comfort…I gave her the inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection that many times will come even from her own children.
I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going and take care of her family and friends, even when everyone else gives up, through sickness and fatigue without complaining…I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances. Even when her child has hurt her badly…
She has the very special power to make a child’s boo-boo feel better and to quell a teenager’s anxieties and fears…I gave her strength to care for her husband, despite faults and I fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart…I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him unfalteringly.
For all of this hard work, I also gave her a tear to shed. It is hers to use whenever needed and it is her only weakness.
When you see her cry, tell her how much you love her, and all she does for everyone, and even though she may still cry, you will have made her heart feel good.

Tailgate party

As a family we decided to take a step back in time and go to the UNR homecoming tailgate party. It was so much fun, there was tons of free food and the UNR marching band show. It was good to look back on our fond memories of our time at UNR.
 beautiful view of the campus.

Josh and Eric thought this was really cool.

This was taken just after we finished up lunch. Which is why Josh has chocolate all over his mouth.

Bouncing Princess

Our friends gave us a baby bouncer today and Eden loves it! So do the boys for that matter but not for themselves it is all about Eden for them most of the time, they are very devoted little brothers and I'm not being sarcastic.

So happy in her bouncing chair

 Josh learned this from school

birthday and apple hill

My birthday was on Friday and it was a fun day and then we left for Folsom to be with family. Saturday we went up to apple hill and enjoyed a fun afternoon and then we came back and had dairy free apple cake. It was sooooooo yummy. Eden was a good girl and the boys had a lot of fun with their cousin. Enjoy the pictures.

Eric, Josh and Eden ready for the season

Eden and Mommy, this is just about how I carry her around all day every day around the house.

We found real life super heroes and they let us take pictures of them and their truck.

Eric driving the fire truck. He was a little scared to be up that high.

Josh the fearless, he loved pretending to drive the fire truck.

My pretty little girl all ready for Halloween.

Happy birthday to me, and no I don't feel 27 I still feel like I'm 23.

My big girl, She was so pleased with herself for sitting in the big kids chair.

that face says I'm ready to eat, to bad she has to wait to eat table foods for several months.

New coats

We pulled another all nighter with Eden as we continued to work on getting her to sleep in her crib. She's a little more stubborn than her brothers. So while pulling the all nighter I was able to listen to the howling of the wind and swishing of the rain against the windows. It made for a tough night and even tougher morning. Josh didn't like what I had picked out for him today and his  t-shirt that he chose was not going to cut it for the cold weather. So I broke out the new winter coats, that dried some dramatic tears. I'm really glad I put everyones coats on because as we were walking to school I looked at all the kids wearing little sweat shirts and complaining about how cold they were. Eric is still complaining about mommy not letting him play on the toys. Next wet day I'll put him in the stroller so he can't fight me.
Josh was still being Mr. drama king in this picture but he was happy when he got to school and discovered that it was wear nice clothes to school day and not Halloween costumes day. That was the root of his fighting me this morning. Eric on the other hand was all smiles when I put his new marshmallow coat on him.

Eden looked super cute in her pink bear coat.

tutu

As a baby gift my mother inlaw gave Eden a dress with a little tutu skirt on it and today we put it on her. She is soooooooo cute if I do say so my self but I'm a bit bias when it comes to Eden. Eden is so lucky she has two Grandmas that love her so much.

Buddy walk

We have some special friends that had a daughter with Down syndrome. As of last year we started coming out to the buddy walk to try and support our friends. This year was a fun year they had a bounce house, face painting, balloon shaping and donuts. The boys had a really good time. Afterwards we headed home and watched general conference. At about 12:00 Jason took off to pick his uncle and Aunt up at the airport. We visited with them for a little while then said our good buys to them as they drove off with the truck that has been sitting on our driveway for the last couple of weeks. We then finished general conference and found ourselves edified. Today was a very good day and I look forward to tomorrow.
Josh posing for the camera with his sword.

I know what you are going to say, Eric's shirt is to big, well that was the smallest shirt they had and he looks cute in anything.
