Eden
Eden had her two month check up and this is where she is. She weighs 9lbs 1oz and is 22in. long. The Dr. placed her in the 10th percentile only because compared to other babies her age she is small, but he expects her to catch up quickly at the rate she is growing. She has a small head that was the Dr.'s words. She did end up getting her vaccinations today only because the Dr's office received a grant that made it more affordable and more convenient. Having to make another trip out is difficult when we only have one car. So my beautiful little princess is doing well and we hope to be able to introduce dairy back into my diet when she is about four months. Though no dairy has been the most successful diet I have ever been on, I've lost 10lbs because of it. Eden also has to learn to sleep in her crib as the Dr. told us no more sleeping in the reclining high chair at night, so tonight might be a long night.
Salsa
Every year we can salsa but this year was special because for the first year we were able to grow our own jalapenos. It was a small batch this year because we still have several jars from last year so the rest of the tomatoes in our garden will be going to spaghetti sauce.
The jalapeno that Jason is pointing to came from our garden and the one next to it came from the store. Ours looks so much better.
Sealed and ready to enjoy. Jason really likes it this year because thanks to garden fresh products it tastes so much better but watch out it's a bit spicier.

Pretty Girl
I keep finding all these cute dresses that people gave me but I forgot all about. Eden was a happy girl and her personality is beginning to really shine, she is a very happy little girl.
Toddler's Rules of Possession
I found this on a friend's site and thought I should share it with others because it is really funny and so true if you have a toddler.
Toddler’s Rules of Possession
1. If I like it, it’s mine.
2. If it’s in my hand, it’s mine.
3. If I can take it from you, it’s mine.
4. If I had it a little while ago, it’s mine.
5. If it’s mine, it must NEVER appear to be yours in anyway.
6. If I’m doing or building something, all the pieces are mine.
7. If it looks just like mine, it is mine.
8. If I saw it first, it’s mine.
9. If you are playing with something and you put it down, it automatically becomes mine.
10. If it’s broken, it’s yours.

look familiar
I took a picture of Josh and Eden and after taking it I realized it looked alot like a picture that I took of Jason and Eden.
I guess that when she wants Mommy she has no patience with anyone else.

My little lady
Just as Jason came home for lunch both the little ones decided that they were tired and cranky so after putting them to bed and finishing my project I looked over to see my beautiful little lady folding her hands, so of course I just had to take a picture.
boy tea party
Last night I came home from the gym to Josh and Eric sitting down for what they called their boy tea party. It was very inventive and the boys had a good time serving each other. Josh has asked for a kitchenette for Christmas, I'm glad he gave us some notice so that we could save up for it. I love that he is so creative in making up these pretend games.

Happy girl
I tried to take pictures of Eden yesterday but she was a very unhappy little girl, something tells me that I ate something I shouldn't have no matter today she is very happy. I put her in an outfit I thought wouldn't fit for another month or two but it fits and she looks so cute in it so I couldn't resist sharing the pictures with others. We're going to have to look for more purple for her. It's definitely her color.
these are better pictures for her two month pics
PJ's
Last night Jason did the glamorous job of dressing the boys for bed while I continued to fill jars with pears. This was the result of the boys night time outfits.
I'm happy that the boys found thier outfits to be so much fun.
Also at about 12:00am one of our neighbors decided that it was a good time to practice their drums. I'm grateful to the neighbor that yelled at them to stop otherwise they might have woken up our kids and that would have been a tragedy for us. People really need to think before they act.
Oh and we only have one more box of pears to finish and then we start work on the tomatoes with our beautiful peppers from our garden.

Two months
Eden is two months old now. She can roll over from her tummy to her back. She can hold on to things and her binky is a serious must have for her. She was also diagnosed as having a lactose intolerant problem and has acid reflux. Very common things for premature babies but can be difficult if you are nursing your baby. Our solution was take me off of all dairy products and keep me on a lactose free diet. We never realized how many things use milk in their ingredients till now. Eden is doing much better since the diet change and that makes everyone happier. She is 21in. and weighs just a little over 8lbs. A nice weight gain from 5lbs to 8lbs in two months. We'll see the Dr. next week to get a more accurate weight.
Eric giving her a flower
I've not had a baby that was this attached to a pacifier till now but I think it has a lot to do with the fact that for so long her little belly hurt all the time and this was one of the few things that actually comforted her.
A quick funny story the other day after picking Josh up from his primary activity we were driving home when out of no where Josh declares that he is going to marry Eden when he grows up. Daddy then says no she's my girl and Josh responds with no she's my girl your to big for her but I'm not and I'm going to marry her. I unfortunately had to pop his bubble by telling him that he can not marry his sister. He said yes I can and I will cause I love her.
all I can say for now is I'm grateful he loves his sister
because we all love Eden.

canning
Every year we purchase pears and every year the job seems to get bigger. This year Jason decided to order four boxes. Well after four hours we finished a box and a half so Monday we'll conquer another box and a half and finish it up on Tuesday. At least we'll be set for the next six months on canned fruit. Soon we'll get working on the salsa.
this was just a third of the jars we filled.
Unwanted daddy attention. All she wanted was to nurse and Daddy is no good at that.

monkey
We all have great parenting lessons in our lives but today Eric learned a big lesson that his mommy has been trying to teach him for a while. He was jumping on my bed singing the song no more monkeys jumping on the bed when he fell off and bonked his head on my night stand. After a minute of crying he stopped to listen to me singing the no more monkeys jumping on the bed song and thought that is was a funny boo boo. Now he is busy telling Josh not to jump on the bed cause you'll fall off and bonk your head. Good lesson learned.
I took this after, he's trying to say cheese.
at least he is a good sport when he falls.

What have I been up to?
What have I been up to
well let me think,
Taking care of a sick Eric and discovering that my baby is Lactose intolerant and having to drastically change my diet for her.
I'm so frazzled at times
I've been really busy running Josh to school and then picking him up every day.
most days I think we look like some kind of parade with all my kids.
Doing my job at home, man I wish I looked that good.
and doing a lot of running on the treadmill to get rid of my extra unwanted padding, but last night I managed to run a mile without stopping. We wont say how long it took me but that is an accomplishment for me.
What have you been up to?

First Day of Kindergarten
Well I'm sitting here watching the sun come up on Josh's first day of school and thinking what happened to the time? It was just yesterday that I took my brave little three year old to preschool for the first time just two weeks after his birthday and now I'm taking my five and half year old to his first day of kindergarten. I've learned that time is so precious and it escapes us on a daily basis.
I had a conversation with Josh last night trying to get a feel for how he feels about going to all day kindergarten and his comment was I'm not scared of school just scared of not having any good friends. I have to say that's my biggest fear as well, but my husband and I know that the Lord will be with our special little boy as he continues his journey.

September 2011
I just got back from taking Josh to his first day of school. Most the of the kids were so excited to be at school. Josh walked in confidently ready to make some friends and learn. His wonderful preschool teacher Ms. Kathy who has been part of this journey for the last two and half years came to see him go to kindergarten. I'm proud of myself I didn't cry though I did have a moment of emotion come on I was able to push it aside and watch my baby make a big step in his life with confidence.
Now to give this sweat little boy of mine some attention as Eric was also very brave to watch his brother go to school.

finally finished
Well we finally finished the kids rooms. I hope you like what we've done.
This was a gift from my mom, now Jason can get me more jewelry to go on it....
Beautiful Blessing
Jason blessed our beautiful little Eden yesterday in sacrament and the spirit that was there was so sweat. We were so blessed to have family that traveled so that they could come and be with us. One of the members in our ward was kind enough to record the blessing for us so we could go back and listen to it. We are so full of gratitude for all the blessings that we have. While the family was here we went to the Legends to play in the fountains and ride on the Farris wheel in the Scheels. We then took a charter bus to the Rib cook off where our group ended up spiting and finding there choice of meat. It was so much fun to be with my parents and brother and then all of Jason's side as well we were only missing two brothers. One was in Canada serving the Lord on his mission and the other was in Tucson busy with school. But everyone else was there. The weekend was the best.
Josh playing in the fountains. Eric was there some where.

Great Grandma Kjar came all the way from Gunnison to be with us.
